2023 Yamaha Tenere 700 Tech Camo
Although my love for BMW motorcycles, and the GSA in particular, will always be present, my preferences have changed the recent years. As I have become an 4×4 overlander using my Toyota Hilux Arctic Truck AT37 with an Alu-Cab Canopy Camper (see @estokka on Instagram), motorcycle adventure riding simply wasn’t prioritized anymore. I eventually sold my beloved GSA, and I have been without a bike for a year and a half.
I am not picking up on motorcycle adventure riding any time soon. I don’t need a bike to carry two people. I don’t plan on carrying any luggage that won’t fit my backpack. I am simply looking for a fun ride, both on and off road. A ride for the smaller adventures, more close by. Hence, the Yamaha Tenere 700.
So far I am loving it! It’s such a fun thing to ride. I will always love the GSA. Right now I am in love with the Tenere!
2017 BMW R 1200 GS Adventure
I bought my second GSA ever so slightly used (1700 km) by a previous owner who purchased the bike for a long-awaited European tour that was cancelled. The bike was mint, with only a few minor upgrades done to it.
The “Triple Black” Special Model
The “Triple Black” special version of the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure has established its own tradition and the name once again says it all. BMW Motorrad is responding to a wish expressed by many customers by bringing out a special model of the 2017 GS Adventure in a virtually all-black finish.
The central fuel tank cover, storage compartment lid and front mudguard in Blackstorm metallic together with fuel tank side panels in Dark Slate metallic give the R 1200 GS Adventure a strikingly masculine look. Powerful technical accentuations are provided by the front and rear frame in Agate Grey in combination with the black engine, gearbox and swinging arm.
A new black seat with GS embossment on the passenger section rounds off the striking appearance of the new 2017 BMW R 1200 GS Adventure Triple Black.
Additional changes and tweaks
New features for the 2017 R 1200 GS Adventure model also include a revised selector drum actuator, transmission shafts and transmission shaft bearing. An OBD indicator lamp in the cockpit has been added to meet EU4 requirements. In addition, the instrument panel features a revised design.

Hi Edgar,
Great site. I found it while looking for some information on accessories for the R1200GS Adventure (mudsling, etc.). I have exactly the same as yours on order for delivery middle of March. After ten years and +100k Km on a R1150GS, it was time for a change.
Keep up the good work on your site.
Greetings from Belgium,
Peter
Thanks for your kind words Peter!
It is still slippery on the roads of Norway, but I cannot wait until spring when I can bring my bike back on the road again. I only had a very brief riding season last year, 2011 should be good!
Safe riding Peter!
