WRS Matte Black Sport Screen and Wind Deflectors

Posted on

I consider myself done with the modifications to make my bike fit me and my riding style. I now consider it off road worthy. In fact, I consider it a totally awesome looking bike! A final little tweak remains, though. This is pure aesthetics. This one is all about matte, black sexiness! Totally not needed, but totally worth it! Check out this great little upgrade. What are your thoughts?

Original wind deflector.

I love the Tech Kamo color scheme on my bike. It is made up of mostly matte black and olive-greenish paint. I wanted this to be reflected in the front of the bike where the blank see-through wind deflectors sit.

Custom made (cut-off and painted) wind screen.

The previous owner had made a good job cutting and painting the original wind screen. It  ended up being a bit too low for my taste, especially since I wanted to mount my phone here and I needed some more protection.

WRS

WRS production started in 2008 with a small artisanal department developing windscreens for the best touring and supersport motorcycles. The exponential growth in demand has driven them to invest significant resources in cutting-edge technologies, creating a dedicated production department in the following years.

The production department is completely independent and manages all steps, from design and planning to final production. They use state-of-the-art machinery such as laser cutting, 3D scanners, CNC milling, and simulation software. Their extensive experience combined with the most modern technologies allows them to achieve high standards of quality that distinguish our excellent products made in Italy.

WRS package has arrived.

WRS seemed like a perfect companion to my bike and I ordered both the Matte Black Sport Screen and Wind Deflectors.

Great packaging and surprise items included.

The items were packed professionally and wrapped in protecting plastic. Included in the package were some WRS stickers and a WRS key chain.

Love it!

You should know by now that I have a weak spot for surprise items like this. Thanks, WRS!

Well protected and undamaged at arrival.

Nothing is as frustrating as receiving items that have been damaged during transport. The WRS goods were packed really well and in perfect order when they arrived.

WRS Matte Black Sport Screen.

The new WRS Matte Black Sport Screen is just a tiny bit higher than the one I replace it with.

Good looking but…

Here is a front view shot of the original wind screen that the previous owner had modified by cutting it and painting it. It looks surprisingly good, however, it is a bit too low for my Quad Lock phone mount.

Cut a bit too low.

The original/cut wind screen won’t protect my phone much.

Quad Lock phone mount.

I have relied on the phone and accessories mounts from Quad Lock for a number of years. They are bullet proof and easy to operate. As shown again in this picture, the cut-off wind screen is a few centimeters too low to provide any protection from wind and items that might fly in this direction, hence, I found it clever to upgrade (no pun intended) – a few centimeters.

Loosen the side panels to get access.

Three screws need to be unscrewed to loosen the side panels. Once this is done you should be able to simply lift and pull off the wind deflectors.

Note this fasting point.

The wind deflector has a small fastening point that you need to ensure aligns well with the corresponding part on you bike. This is crucial to making sure the wind deflector is properly seated and fastened.

Done on one side.

The wind deflector on the right side is properly installed. On to the next one.

You’re coming off too, you know.

Repeat what you just did on the other side. Wait until you see the final result – you will be amazed!

Are you WRS-amazed?

I think this minor modification made a major difference to the overall look of the bike. Matching the matte black wind deflectors and sport screen with the matte black color scheme of the rest of the bike, makes perfect sense to me. it also frames the headlight really well to make the front of the bike look even more aggressive and off-road’ish.

Black and white.

I ended up putting on some of the WRS stickers as well. Photos of this to be posted on my Instagram account shortly. The white on the matte black looked stunning.

You can’t go wring with matte black.

Matte black is looking good, mate!

I recommend WRS!

I am really happy with the final result. WRS products boost quality – I can highly recommend them.

How cool is this?

I am super happy with how this modification turned out. It marks the final step of my planned upgrades (for now). The next posts will hopefully be revolving around me actually riding this beauty!

I’d like to hear what you think of this new WRS front look. Let me know in the comments below.
