Opening Day of Suleskarvegen

Posted on

In our parts of Norway, winter looses it’s grip even in the mountains around May, and some of the popular roads for motorcycle riding reopens for the season.

On May 20 Suleskarvegen opened after being closed since november the previous year, and my girlfriend and I got on the day for a momorable weekend trip, including one night’s camping. Here are some photos from our trip.

Packed and ready to go for a two day trip.
First stop on Suleskarvegen to put on some more clothes.
The temperature may be low, however, the spirits are high as we climb towards the snowy top.
The road clearance crew has done a pretty good job making the road ready from all the snow.
Even the massive GSA looks tiny on front of the snow.
At the end of Suleskarvegen we get to Valle in Setesdal where we stopped for a snack.
